Job description

At Landmark Credit Union, we succeed by putting people first - and that starts with you. Our culture of inclusion and collaboration enables us to support our members' financial wellbeing, positively impact the communities we serve, and help our associates grow their careers. Bring your authentic self to work as part of an organization where you'll feel valued for your unique qualities, are enabled to reach your full potential, and are recognized for your contributions to our success. We strive to ensure you feel empowered to grow and succeed, while also feeling valued and taken care of, as we all do our part to put people first. We invite you to learn more about this and other opportunities at Landmark Credit Union.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The VP, IT Platforms is responsible for the strategy, engineering, operations, and continual modernization of Landmark Credit Union's core infrastructure and platform services. This leader provides enterprise ownership for cloud platforms, DevOps and automation, network engineering, systems engineering, and the build-out of site reliability engineering capabilities, while partnering closely with Information Security to ensure platforms are secure, resilient, observable, and scalable. The VP, IT Platforms reports to the SVP, IT and serves as the senior owner of platform health, resilience, and engineering maturity across core infrastructure domains, clearly separating platform and reliability ownership from application and data solutions ownership.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure or platform leadership experience, including responsibility for enterprise infrastructure strategy and engineering teams.
  3. Proven experience leading cloud infrastructure, DevOps/platform engineering, systems engineering, and network engineering functions in a complex environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience building or maturing SRE, observability, or reliability engineering practices in production environments.
  5. Strong understanding of monitoring, telemetry, incident management, resiliency, automation, and service performance management.
  6. Experience partnering with Information Security and embedding security engineering practices into platform and infrastructure work.
  7. Strong executive communication, prioritization, and cross-functional leadership skills, especially in regulated or operationally sensitive environments.
  8. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related State and Federal laws and regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Define and execute a multi-year platform strategy covering cloud, infrastructure, automation, reliability, and engineering standards aligned to business growth and modernization goals.
  2. Serve as the senior infrastructure and platform leader reporting to the SVP, IT, creating the leadership depth needed to move day-to-day platform decisions below the senior-most IT level.
  3. Lead the design, implementation, support, and optimization of cloud and on-premises infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
  4. Oversee systems engineering and network engineering functions, including architecture standards, lifecycle management, resilience, and capacity planning.
  5. Build and mature DevOps practices that improve deployment speed, standardization, environment consistency, and operational stability.
  6. Drive infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, CI/CD enablement, and platform automation to reduce manual work and improve control.
  7. Establish and lead an SRE capability focused on service reliability, performance, incident reduction, resiliency engineering, and operational readiness for critical systems.
  8. Build an enterprise observability strategy and platform, including monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing, telemetry standards, and actionable service-level measures.
  9. Define and track reliability practices such as incident response, root cause analysis, postmortems, error budgets, service level objectives, and availability reporting.
  10. Build a security engineering function that works in close partnership with Information Security to embed secure design, hardening, platform controls, and operational security into infrastructure and engineering practices.
  11. Partner with Information Security on vulnerability remediation, identity and access controls, logging, monitoring, response readiness, and security-related platform standards.
  12. Ensure platform services support strong business continuity, disaster recovery, recoverability, and operational resilience requirements appropriate for a regulated financial institution.
  13. Lead the reduction of operational risk through standardization, automation, improved observability, and more disciplined engineering and support practices.
  14. Lead and develop managers, engineers, and technical specialists across cloud, DevOps, network, and systems disciplines, while building new SRE and security engineering capabilities over time.
  15. Establish clear operating models, engineering standards, career paths, and team expectations that support a scalable platform organization.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
