The location in Rothschild, (Wisconsin, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Entry Level Process Engineer with Quality Focus. This job is full-time permanent.

Domtar Paper in Rothschild, WI has an opening for an entry-level quality engineer. 

This role offers accelerated exposure to mill operations, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives, providing an excellent foundation for developing both technical and leadership skills.

Key areas of focus include supporting process optimization, new product development, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. A strong understanding of data-driven proble solving and a willingness to learn and apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies will be essential for successfully planning, executing, and sustaining process improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a champion for safety by promoting a safe work environment, demonstrating safe work practices, and actively participating in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support quality objectives by maintaining high product quality standards, reducing process variability, and driving initiatives that improve overall product performance.
  • Assist with new product development activities by planning, coordinating, and supporting product trials and evaluating trial results.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to production areas by troubleshooting process and equipment issues, leading capital improvement projects, and advancing equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot process control systems to optimize performance, improve operational stability, and support production goals.
  • Collaborate with external technical resources, suppliers, and vendors to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, quality enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with hourly employees while providing technical guidance and training related to process improvements, operational changes, safety requirements, quality standards, and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop supervisory and leadership skills by assuming progressively greater responsibility with workforce coordination, decision-making, and operational oversight.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide weekend technical support and operational assistance for the Paper Unit.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through the identification, evaluation, and implementation of initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science Engineering, or other relative engineering degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Oral and written communication skills, to communicate technical material across the mill and to outside resources.
  • Willing & able to meet demands of a 24/7 operation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant internship or co-op preferred.

  • Interest in the pulp and paper industry and building a developmental career with unlimited learning opportunities.
  • Ability to comply with and enforce company, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
