Senior Account Executive

Nectar Communications

San Francisco, CA

Job description

Senior Account Executive

Nectar is looking for a Senior Account Executive who takes big swings, never stops leveling up, and makes the whole team better in the process.

We're a tight-knit, high-performing communications agency that shapes the stories of today's most disruptive technology companies including LinkedIn, Google Cloud, the world's biggest AI company (yes, that one), and a growing roster of breakout startups across AI, enterprise, and consumer. We punch above our weight because we show up with energy, urgency, and ambition, and because we hold each other to a genuinely high bar.

As a Senior Account Executive, you'll own meaningful work, push clients forward, and connect dots others miss. You'll bring conviction to every pitch, sweat the details on every deliverable, and flag risks early so the team can count on you. You move fast, think big, and care deeply about the quality of what you put into the world, because great work isn't accidental. It's intentional, thoughtful, and something worth putting your name on.

Nectarines are curious about where media and technology are headed, especially in this age of AI, and actively use that curiosity to think bigger and move faster. We collaborate without ego, communicate clearly, and take ownership from kickoff to follow-through.

If you're energized by tech, passionate about storytelling, and ready to do the best work of your career in an inclusive environment where your ideas actually matter, this is your place.

What You Do

  • Own day-to-day execution across 3–4 client accounts, keeping programs on track, on strategy, and delivering real results

  • Show up as a trusted client partner: proactive, clear, and always a step ahead with smart counsel

  • Build and execute media strategies that consistently land high-quality coverage in the outlets that matter

  • Write and refine pitches, press releases, bylines, and briefing docs with the kind of craft and care that makes people notice

  • Cultivate genuine relationships with reporters, editors, and influencers, the kind built on trust, not just transactions

  • Spot newsjacking and thought leadership moments before they're obvious, and move fast enough to own them

  • Keep projects, timelines, and deliverables tight, because great work falls apart without great follow-through

  • Collaborate on integrated campaigns across earned, owned, and social, connecting the dots across every channel

  • Invest in junior teammates by reviewing their work thoughtfully and helping them level up

  • Bring energy and ideas to brainstorms, new business pitches, and the bigger strategic conversations shaping where Nectar is headed

  • Location: San Francisco or New York (San Francisco preferred)

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years in public relations, communications, or integrated marketing, ideally with agency experience and tech clients under your belt

  • A track record of securing meaningful media coverage and building press relationships that actually last

  • Sharp writing chops across formats, from a tight pitch to a polished byline

  • The ability to manage multiple workstreams independently without dropping a ball or a standard

  • Confidence on client calls: leading conversations, managing expectations, and earning trust

  • A bias toward action: you translate strategy into execution and figure it out as you go

  • Some experience mentoring junior talent, or a genuine interest in doing it well

  • Curiosity about where media, technology, and AI are headed, and habits that reflect it

  • A collaborative instinct and a solutions-first mentality, even when things get messy

  • Familiarity with AI tools and a willingness to use them to work smarter, write better, and move faster
