Sr. Structural Engineer
Location: Vandalia, OH
Pay Rate: $70.00/hr.
Clearance: Ability to obtain- processing required immediately in DISS Point Solutions Group (PSG) is aiding their government customer in search of experienced Sr. Structural Engineer. The selected candidate will use skills and expertise to design, evaluate, and certify our cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. Additionally, you'll examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems. Your technical duties involve the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects
• Provide expert guidance on the design and analysis of metallic and composite structures
• Perform high-level structural analysis and validation
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
• Develop and review detailed technical documentation and reports
• Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align structural engineering initiatives with business goals Must-haves:
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
• Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
• Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Advanced knowledge of static strength analysis and design principles
• Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
• Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes • Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS
• Understanding of fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
• Ability to author and review substantiation reports Preferred:
• Liaison engineering experience
• Aircraft modification experience
• Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS
• Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
• Experience performing dynamic analysis
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
