Job Description Summary
The College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University seek to hire adjunct faculty to teach in our ICF ACTP accredited Professional and Executive leadership program and MAOL within our Department of Organizational Leadership and Management. Focused on experiential learning, and active engagement, adjuncts chosen to teach at Lewis will create a charismatic and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds.
Adjunct positions at Lewis University are teaching positions and may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an "as needed" basis. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct Faculty provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to their respective department chair and/or the dean and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the University. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
-Teach their course(s) either at the Romeoville (Main), Oak Brook and/or Albuquerque campuses;
-Availability to teach during the evening or online (synchronously online at a set time each week 6-9pm central time);
-Prepare course materials, syllabus(ai) and update Blackboard course shells (LMS platform);
-Participate in required University and College activities, trainings and certifications;
-Provide support and guidance to students.
-Cooperate with department chairs or other program faculty to assure quality and consistency across the program
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in a leadership related field (leadership, organization development, I/O psychology).
- Current International Coach Federation certification (PCC or MCC preferred).
- Possesses excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
- Familiarity with the ICF competencies.
- ICF assessment experience preferred but not required.
- All hired adjunct faculty must successfully complete the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program.
Preferred Qualifications
-Candidates are preferred to provide evidence of prior quality teaching and/or training experiences. -Experience with Blackboard and hybrid delivery, not required, but desirable.
