IDEXX BioAnalytics is experiencing strong growth as a Contract Testing Organization (CTO), supporting over 4,000 research organizations with innovative bioanalytical solutions. We are accelerating our regulated service offerings, leveraging organic expansion and targeted M&A to lead as a trusted partner for biopharma innovators and next-generation research pipelines. Why this role matters:

The Senior Director, BioAnalytics Scientific Affairs & R&D is a senior enterprise leader responsible for shaping IDEXX BioAnalytics' scientific strategy while driving meaningful business outcomes. This role requires a credible scientific leader with strong commercial and operational acumen-someone who can bridge science and business, partner as a true peer with R&D, Operations, Commercial, and Finance leaders, and consistently put the customer at the center of decisionmaking. The role combines strategic portfolio leadership, external customer engagement, and handson organizational leadership to scale differentiated, marketrelevant solutions.

In this role:
  • You will set and evolve the multiyear scientific and innovation strategy for IDEXX BioAnalytics in support of enterprise growth objectives.

  • You will define and lead the regulated testing portfolio across scientific affairs and service development, ensuring offerings are differentiated, scalable, and aligned to endtoend biopharma and advancedtherapy workflows.

  • You will convert customer needs, market trends, and scientific insight into service innovations that guide portfolio priorities, investment decisions, and growth opportunities.

  • You will drive portfolio and investment tradeoffs by balancing scientific opportunity with commercial potential, margin, operational scalability, and longterm strategic fit.

  • You will partner closely with Commercial, Operations, Regulatory, and Quality teams to launch and scale GLP, GMP, and ISOcompliant offerings.

  • You will build, lead, and develop senior scientific leaders while strengthening organizational capability for future growth.

  • You will represent IDEXX BioAnalytics as a trusted scientific and strategic partner externally.

What you need to succeed:
  • Senior Director-level leadership experience with accountability for strategy, people leadership, and business outcomes.

  • Advanced degree in life sciences preferred (PhD, DVM, or equivalent experience); MBA a plus. Equivalent experience considered.

  • 10+ years of experience in scientific affairs, applied R&D, or service development within regulated environments.

  • Deep understanding of cell therapy and advanced therapy testing workflows, including experience launching and scaling GLP/GMPcompliant programs.

Beyond these requirements, success in this role depends on leadership range.

  • The ideal candidate is a credible scientific leader who brings strong business judgment and enterprise perspective.

  • They have demonstrated the ability to bridge science and business-shaping portfolios, investment decisions, and service strategies in complex, regulated environments.

  • They are equally effective leading senior scientists and partnering with Commercial and Operations leaders on growth, margin, scalability, and execution.

  • This leader brings executive presence with customers and internal stakeholders and consistently translates scientific excellence into practical, highvalue solutions that put the customer first.
