Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Recruitment and Enrollment, the Enrollment Counselor and Recruiter plays a key role in advancing Lake-Sumter State College's recruitment and enrollment goals. This position supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of a variety of student recruitment initiatives designed to attract and enroll prospective students. The Enrollment Counselor and Recruiter serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and current students, providing accurate information, guidance, and support throughout the enrollment process, including in challenging or complex situations.
Success in this role requires exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, and technological skills, as well as the ability to build positive relationships with various populations. The incumbent is expected to maintain comprehensive knowledge of the College's academic programs, admissions and enrollment processes, institutional policies, procedures, and student support services to effectively assist students in achieving their educational goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and coordinate recruitment travel to middle schools, high schools, community organizations, and events to promote the College's offerings.
- Deliver engaging presentations on college readiness, financial aid, academic programs, and student success strategies in both in-person and virtual formats.
- Design and execute innovative recruitment campaigns tailored to varied student populations, including adult learners and non-traditional students.
- Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships with K-12 institutions, local businesses, and industry leaders to enhance recruitment pipelines.
- Oversee and optimize the use of the College's CRM platform to manage student engagement, track outreach efforts, and analyze recruitment data.
- Collaborate in the creation of marketing materials and detailed recruitment performance reports.
- Provide expert-level advising to prospective students regarding admissions requirements, academic pathways, and support services through multiple communication channels.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of college programs, financial aid options, scholarships, and campus resources to counsel students effectively.
- Conduct personalized campus tours and guide students through the enrollment process with a focus on retention and long-term success.
- Organize and support recruitment events such as Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, and Information Sessions.
- Serve as a liaison between recruitment and other departments, including academic advising, financial aid, and student services, to ensure a seamless enrollment experience.
- Assist in the review and processing of admissions and financial aid documentation as needed.
- Provide leadership and supervision to student workers and junior recruitment staff, fostering professional development and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with FERPA regulations and maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Required:
- Bachelor's Degree + 4 or more years of related experience or Master's Degree + 2 or more years of related experience.
- Preferred:
- Experience with higher education student services.
JOB STATUSES AND REQUIREMENTS
Enrollment Counselor & Recruiter I (ECR I)
- Promotion to ECR II: ECR I employees in good standing (satisfactory or above on annual performance evaluations) for 2 consecutive years must submit a written request to the VP-ESA and department head outlining accomplishments, professional development, and career interests. Professional Development must include the successful completion of AACRAO's Admissions Counselor Recruiter 101 Class. Promotions will take place in August or January, whichever comes first, pending approved budgets.
Enrollment Counselor & Recruiter II (ECR II)
- Requirements: Good standing in the ECR I role for 2 years.
- Promotion to SECR: ECR II employees in good standing (satisfactory or above on annual performance evaluations) for 2 consecutive years must submit a written request to the VP-ESA and department head outlining accomplishments, professional development, and career interests. Professional Development must include the successful completion of AACRAO's Essentials of Strategic Enrollment Management Class. Promotions will take place in August or January, whichever comes first, pending approved budgets.
Senior Enrollment Counselor & Recruiter (SECR)
- Requirements: Commitment to additional professional development, peer training, supervision of student assistants, and coordination of special projects.
