Position at XL Construction Corp.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Project Executive to lead our Civic Market, with the potential oversight of educational projects within the Sacramento region. This senior leadership role is responsible for executive oversight of multiple projects, client engagement, team development, and operational excellence. You'll play a strategic role in advancing XL Construction's presence in public works type projects with emphasis on the civic sector while ensuring high-quality delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction across your project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive oversight for civic and education projects, including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and client account plans for specifically targeted clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships across City, County, State and fed clients.
  • Partner with estimating, preconstruction, and operations to develop project execution strategies and secure successful delivery
  • Guide and mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and project engineers across multiple teams
  • Monitor project health-financial performance, schedule adherence, quality, and risk
  • Collaborate with field and safety leadership to ensure consistent execution across job sites
  • Represent XL in executive meetings, proposals, and key project milestones
  • Work cross-functionally to support staffing plans, team development, and strategic planning in the science market

Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated success managing public works type projects and preference for Civic projects valued at $20M+
  • Expertise in project deliveries, City and county construction with clear understanding of delivery methods including hard bid scenario for public clients.
  • Strong business acumen, including financial management, forecasting, and client negotiation
  • Proficiency in Procore, scheduling tools (e.g., P6 or MS Project), and construction budgeting platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $196,000 - $269,000 annually (in compliance with California pay transparency laws)
  • Eligible for executive performance-based bonus
