Leaders in these positions strive to integrate their faith into decision-making, organizational culture, and ethical standards. Their approach often emphasizes servant leadership, integrity, compassion, and stewardship, aiming to inspire teams and achieve organizational goals while upholding Christian teachings. This leadership style can be found in both faith-based and secular organizations, where leaders seek to make a positive impact by modeling Christ-like behavior.

What unique challenges might Christian executive leaders face in balancing organizational goals with faith-based values?

Christian Executive Leaders often navigate the challenge of aligning business objectives with the core values and mission of their faith-based organization. Balancing financial sustainability with ethical decision-making and servant leadership can require extra sensitivity, especially when addressing diverse stakeholder expectations. Leaders must foster a culture that reflects Christian principles while also implementing effective business strategies, which may involve complex decision-making and transparent communication with boards, staff, and communities. Regular reflection and collaboration with other leaders in similar roles can help in maintaining this balance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Christian executive leader, and why are they important?

Job description

Executive Director - Legacy Leadership Forums

God is on the move in the marketplace! And the team at Legacy Leadership Forums is joining with Him as we serve and disciple business owners and leaders in the Chicagoland area and beyond.

Are you a visionary Christian leader who believes the marketplace is one of God's greatest mission field's?

Legacy Leadership Forums (LLF), based in Lansing, IL, is looking for an Executive Director who is passionate about developing business leaders into faithful Kingdom leaders - and who is excited to lead a growing ministry into its next chapter of influence.

What Candidate Will Get:

  • $90,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience, and travel compensation
  • Opportunity to shape the future of a growing Kingdom-focused ministry
  • Work alongside committed Christian leaders
  • Significant leadership autonomy
  • Flexible work environment
  • Meaningful impact on business leaders throughout Chicagoland and beyond

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will approach this opportunity as a calling, not simply a career. The Executive Director should have both an entrepreneurial and servant-leader mindset. Should be energized by helping others grow spiritually, naturally bringing people together around a compelling vision, and enjoy building healthy teams and organizational systems. The Executive Director is equally comfortable casting vision in front of a room, developing leaders one-on-one, and ensuring the ministry has the structure, resources, and strategy needed to flourish for years to come.

As Executive Director, one will:

  • Champion the vision, mission, and values of LLF
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, Christ-centered team
  • Foster a thriving organizational culture where staff and members flourish
  • Guide the ministry's strategic growth while strengthening its existing Forums
  • Build meaningful relationships with donors, business leaders, ministry partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary spokes person and ambassador for the ministry

Qualifications of the Executive Director:

  • Aligns with the organizations' core values
  • Demonstrated organizational leadership success in business and ministry
  • Team player
  • Strategic thinker who has successfully identified and executed opportunities for innovation and healthy organizational growth
  • Exceptional communicator who can cast vision, build trust, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences

This is more than an executive leadership role - it's an opportunity to help shape the future of a ministry that is equipping leaders to become faithful Kingdom leaders.

If one is a Christ-centered leader who is energized by developing people, building healthy organizations, and advancing God's work through the marketplace, we encourage you to prayerfully consider the opportunity.

If an applicant senses God may be calling them to lead Legacy Leadership Forums into its next season of impact, we'd love to begin a conversation. Please submit a cover letter and resume.
