Job description

Steel Dynamics

We are seeking a Business Integration Lead professional to strengthen the partnership between Information Security and the business by driving collaboration, governance, communication, and strategic security initiatives. This role serves as the primary liaison between Information Security and business units, ensuring security is effectively integrated into projects, operational processes, and organizational decision-making. The Business Integration Lead will coordinate cross-functional initiatives, mature the organization's security program, improve executive visibility into cybersecurity risks, and help ensure security supports business objectives while reducing organizational risk.


  • Contribute to policy, standards, and procedure development. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Information Security and business units across the organization. 
  • Coordinate security requirements for business projects, acquisitions, and technology initiatives.  
  • Lead Employee Security Awareness Training 
  • Stay current on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. 
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to Information Security team members. 
  • Partner with IT, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, and other departments to integrate security into business processes.  
  • Assist in merging and maturing the overall program roadmap 
  • Assist with enterprise risk assessments 
  • Assist with regulatory, audit, and compliance initiatives. 
  • Assist with developing dashboards and reporting for operational and executive visibility 
  • Coordinate third-party security reviews and business partner engagements. 
  • Support continuous improvement of the Information Security program 

Required

  • Strong critical thinking skills.  
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.  
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, enterprise technology, and business operations.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • Ability to influence and build relationships without direct authority. 
  • Strong presentation skills. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects. 
  • 4 years of Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related experience. 

Preferred

  • 4-year Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • 4 years of experience within information technology, information security, and/or business administration 
  • Experience with governance, risk management, compliance, or business relationship management. 
  • Relevant Certifications 
  • Project management experience

We operate using a circular manufacturing model, producing lower-carbon-emission, quality steel using electric arc furnace (EAF) technology with recycled ferrous scrap as the primary input. Our circular economy is powered by our three primary operating platforms: steel, metals recycling, and steel fabrication. Our steel operations produce steel products, including hot roll, cold roll, and coated sheet steel, structural steel beams and shapes, rail, engineered special-bar-quality steel, cold finished steel, merchant bar products, and specialty steel sections. Our metals recycling operations collect and process ferrous and nonferrous scrap from manufacturing and end-of-life items, such as automobiles, appliances, and machinery. This processed scrap is then sold to end-users for reuse, including our EAF steel mills, which produce new steel from the scrapped material. We sell a meaningful amount of steel to our own steel fabrication operations that in turn produce and sell structural steel joist and deck building systems to consumers.
