Job description

The Account Executive is responsible for providing day-to-day service to a specified group of clients / associates; this includes employee-support as needed. They build and maintain strong on-going relationships within the specified group of clients while ensuring the proper and effective ongoing management of an assigned block of business.
Account Executives manage an assigned block of business with relation to the performance of the program based on plan design and financial arrangements, and ensure strategies are in-place for the plan sponsor to contain their costs, mitigate their risk, and make the best use of tools within the income tax act. Aka: carry-through on the Integrated Solutions value proposition. Simultaneously, look for and help create opportunities to introduce and implement strategic solutions stemming from IS product developments.The Account Executive will:
  • Be the first point of contact for ongoing client needs

  • Define service standards with clients and manage account lifecycle according to set service agreement/commitment. Ensure service standards are met and all deliverables are complete and client focused,

  • Communicate regularly with Underwriting Specialists/Analysts/Report Writers/CSR regarding workflow needs and scheduled deliverables needs, including regular quarterly and renewal reporting, as well as additional materials such as employee communications, PowerPoint presentations, miscellaneous reports, etc.,

  • Ensure that plan design strategies are appropriate based on the plan sponsor's needs and goals via regular reviews of the utilization among the various benefit levels,

  • Ensure that the funding arrangement/pricing model is appropriate via regular reviews of the performance of the financial component of the program,

  • Review renewal results and negotiate with insurance carriers as appropriate,

  • Work closely with the Underwriting Specialists/Analyst/Report Writer to ensure accuracy in deliverables, perform final accuracy check prior to delivery,

  • Deliver mid-year / quarterly, pre-renewal and renewal reviews to plan sponsor and/or associates as appropriate, either in-person or via email,

  • Ensure the insurance provider is administering and underwriting the program appropriately and that service standards are met.

  • Support plan sponsors in their ongoing administrative needs,

  • Where necessary, provide support to associates.

  • Where necessary, provide support to insurance carrier contacts in working with clients to collect deficits, outstanding premiums or claim funding adjustments that are overdue

  • Facilitate, follow-up, resolve and communicate any escalated service issues,

  • Look for opportunities to implement new products

  • Project leader for implementations on plan design changes, amendments and pricing - including flex launches and re-enrolments. Act as liaison, working with underwriting/carrier contacts (and associate brokers as necessary),

  • Create and/or Oversee the preparation of employee communications / presentations and conduct employee benefit sessions, as required, includes Flex plan launches and re-enrolments,

  • General expectation to provide internal support, leadership, coaching and guidance to all other IS Team Members, through your interactions and handling of client relationships and situations,

  • Take part in transitioning new business acquisitions to the ongoing management service model,

  • Work with Client Manager to ensure that the proper internal resources are assigned and available to assist in the execution of tasks within the required timeframes,

  • Build and manage effective relationships with internal staff and external business partners,

  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationship with insurance carrier staff,

  • Maintain a high degree of technical and industry expertise; by participating in industry conferences, seminars, etc.

To be successful as an Account Executive with People Corporation, you will need:
  • Solid industry knowledge: good balance of underwriting, carrier rules, usual client needs, customer service, various funding arrangements, usual plan design options available in the marketplace + ability to use all of these skills to effectively manage each client's benefits program and be able to identify plausible solutions to specific needs.

  • Ability to identify problems before the occur / identify risks and bring solutions to offset them.

  • Able to speak to groups during employee info sessions.

  • Willing to obtain LLQP license

The base salary for this position is between $80,000 - $90,000 annually.

This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission). The actual base salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
