Description
Fabian Oil is currently seeking a full-time Propane Exchange Specialist to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient handling of our propane exchange program. Responsibilities include refilling, maintaining, and loading propane exchange tanks, as well as delivering them to various locations. The Propane Exchange Specialist will also conduct routine inspections to ensure tanks meet safety standards and assist in organizing inventory. This position is perfect for a reliable, detail-oriented individual who enjoys hands-on work and is committed to providing excellent service to our customers.
A Propane Exchange Specialist should expect to perform all the following duties daily:
  • Refill propane exchange tanks safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload propane exchange tanks onto delivery trucks.
  • Operate small machinery such as forklifts and tank filling equipment to assist with loading, unloading, and refilling.
  • Deliver propane exchange tanks to various retail locations and customers.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure tanks meet safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of filled and empty tanks.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on tanks, such as valve checks and leak testing.
  • Keep the filling station and work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Communicate with the dispatch team to coordinate deliveries and restocking needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service while delivering and handling tanks.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to propane handling and transportation.

The ideal candidate for the Propane Exchange Specialist position should possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety. They should demonstrate excellent time management skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting and transporting propane tanks regularly. Requirements
  • Valid Class C CDL with a clean driving record (or ability to obtain).
  • Forklift certification preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to lift and transport propane tanks weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with propane handling, delivery, or similar industrial work (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail for inspections and inventory management.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor tank maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with clients.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
