Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead — Assortment Planning

We are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead to join a global Sport Planning Technology team supporting Assortment Planning. This is a transformation-focused role where you will help modernize a critical planning tool used by business planners to build multi-season demand and assortment plans.

Today, the system is heavily dependent on Excel and VBA. Your mission is to help reimagine and rebuild it into a modern, cloud-native, AI-augmented platform that improves speed, accuracy, and usability for planners across multiple product categories.

You will work directly with business planners and technical teams to design and deliver a next-generation planning experience that reduces cycle times, removes manual workflows, and introduces intelligent automation and AI-driven insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the modernization of a legacy planning system into a scalable, cloud-native platform
  • Design and build data-intensive applications supporting multi-dimensional planning and forecasting
  • Identify and implement AI/ML opportunities such as forecasting support, anomaly detection, and intelligent recommendations
  • Partner directly with business planners to translate workflows into modern digital solutions
  • Own end-to-end delivery including architecture, development, testing, and deployment
  • Help define the long-term technical vision for planning tools and AI adoption

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of software development experience using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, or cloud technologies
  • Proven experience building AI/ML-powered features in production systems
  • Experience modernizing or replacing legacy tools or workflows (e.g., Excel/VBA or manual processes)
  • Strong background in building data-heavy applications with complex datasets and logic
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate needs into technical solutions
  • Self-starter who can own a problem space from idea through delivery

Nice to Have

  • Experience in demand planning, supply chain, or merchandising systems
  • Familiarity with planning platforms (Anaplan, Kinaxis, o9, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, copilots, or AI agents in enterprise environments
  • Cloud data platform experience (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
  • Background in retail, consumer goods, or sports-related industries

What Success Looks Like

  • Modernized planning workflows replacing Excel/VBA dependencies
  • AI features actively used by planners in day-to-day decision-making
  • Faster planning cycles and improved usability for business users
  • A scalable platform ready to expand across additional planning teams
