Our Intern program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization's success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.

Intern Expectations:

All Interns are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each intern will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.

Important Dates:

Our Fall Program runs from Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026.

Office Hours:

  • 9:00 am‐6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor's schedules.

Our Intern must:

  • Be available to work under 30 hours per week.
  • Be available to report to the New York office approximately 3-days a week.
  • Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad)

OR

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school

OR

  • Have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree.

Interview Process:

  • Applications will close on August 14th, 2026
  • If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended mid to late August.
  • The program will begin on September 14th, 2026.

Marketing Intern Expectations:

  • Assists in brainstorming potential marketing ideas for clients.
  • Assists with NBA Tentpole events as assigned (i.e. NBA Draft)
  • Assists in the execution of clients' marketing and community relations projects (i.e. charity events, production shoots, camps, etc.).
  • Assists in updating and maintaining current client information (i.e. past marketing deals, player interests, social media analytics, press kits, etc.).
  • Assists with client concierge requests (i.e. flights, restaurant reservations, housing, etc.).
  • Assists in marketing team's research of relevant industry trends and brands.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Excel to support clients' marketing endeavors.
  • Works alongside Agents and Marketing Managers in gathering materials for recruiting meetings and sales pitches.
  • Will gain valuable insight on how Excel's marketing department is structured and how it operates internally and externally.
  • Will have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings.
  • May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Marketing group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.

The pay for this position is: $17.00 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law.
