Job description

Title: Slitter / Pleater Machine Operator with PLC Experience
Type: Full-time, temp to hire
Pay: $20 / hour
Shift: 1st shift (7am-3:30pm); OT required at certain points

Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to fabricate media material(s) according to the customer specifications and drawings on the job traveler.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working in manufacturing, assembly, production, or similar industries.
  • 3 + years’ machine set up, operation and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC, extrusion, tube rolling or forming, blow molder).
  • Must have PLC experience (selecting, loading, understanding programs)
  • Computer proficiency: familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar programs; order entry software and computerized manufacturing equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Follows all instructions on job router to operate pleating and slitting equipment, prepares pleated and slitted components according to product and customer specifications.
  • Ensures company materials and physical working spaces meet and exceed company production standards.
  • Ensures quality of output.
  • Tracks and manages inventory of pleating material and ensures enough is on hand based on sales and production forecasts.
  • Scan on and off routers correctly and in right sequence to ensure system is updated correctly and timely.
  • Performs time studies, conducts analyses and recommends process improvements.
  • Ensures equipment uptime is maintained at acceptable standards; notifies supervisor of maintenance and repair needs.
  • Always adheres to safety rules wearing proper PPE required for task being performed and follows all Company policies.
  • Ability to work shift schedule, five (5) eight-hour shifts or four (4) ten-hour shifts. With overtime as required.
  • Always maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
High School or equivalent.
Language Skills:
English fluent.
Mathematical Skills:
Basic Math – adding, subtracting fractions & decimals is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None required but is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing (70%) / walking (20%) / sitting (10%)
  • Lifting / carrying up to 50-lbs
  • Good eyesight to be able to see small print and technical drawings
  • See differences in colors, shapes and materials.
Work Schedule:
  • Ability to work shift schedule, five (5) eight-hour shifts or four (4) ten-hour shifts. With overtime as required by production schedule.
