Reach Truck Operator Requirements/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current forklift certification required.
  • Minimum of six months of warehouse experience required.
  • Previous reach truck operating experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to safely operate a reach truck and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 35 lbs.
  • Basic mathematical skills for counting, measuring, and inventory transactions.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and OSHA-compliant work habits.
  • Automotive industry terminology preferred.
  • Experience with high-rack storage, inventory replenishment, shipping, receiving, and order picking preferred.

About the Reach Truck Operator Role
As a Reach Truck Operator, your responsibilities will include:
  • Safely operate a reach truck to transport, store, and retrieve materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers using a reach truck and other material handling equipment.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials and products.
  • Pick, pull, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Replenish inventory in designated warehouse locations.
  • Generate, scan, and apply shipping labels to cartons and pallets.
  • Scan and process inbound and outbound materials using warehouse management systems.
  • Verify receiving transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Confirm outbound shipments match customer orders and shipping documentation.
  • Perform inventory control activities, including FIFO stock rotation.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Participate in required warehouse, safety, quality, and customer training.
  • Assist with daily warehouse operations and special projects as assigned.
