Plastic Extrusion Operator (Entry Level)
Pay: $18.00 per Hour
Available Shifts:
• 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• 3rd Shift: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Employment Type: Full-Time • Interim-to-Direct Hire
Job Overview
We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our plastic extrusion team. This is an entry-level position with paid, hands-on training. Operators manually feed plastic material into extrusion machines, learn the extrusion process, and perform quality inspections while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
• Hand-feed plastic material into the extrusion line.
• Load all extrusion lines by carrying buckets of plastic material and climbing three steps to dump material into the machine throughout the shift.
• Monitor machine operation and report any equipment issues.
• Inspect finished products for quality and perform visual inspections.
• Learn to use precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
• Read and interpret blueprints after training.
• Accurately read and use a ruler or tape measure.
• Record production and quality information.
• Stack and package finished products.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Qualifications
• Ability to accurately read a ruler or tape measure is required.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn extrusion, blueprint reading, and the use of micrometers and calipers.
• Reliable attendance with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry buckets weighing up to 50 pounds and safely climb three steps while loading the extrusion machines throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical work in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
• Manufacturing environment with moderate noise and heat around extrusion equipment.
• Continuous production environment with no scheduled breaks during the shift.
• Required PPE includes safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots or shoes.
