Job description

Summary Installs and repairs traffic signs and performs semi-skilled work in the marking of streets by signs, traffic striping, or other means for the direction of traffic. Essential Functions Operate traffic striping machines used in marking traffic lanes and crosswalks. Drive truck behind striper to keep traffic off paint; Erect, repair, and maintain traffic control signs, street name signs, and other non-electrical traffic control devices.

May dig holes with post digger for sign poles; Paint medians, curbs, parking stalls, and legends; install island markers and turn lane buttons; Install pavement marking tape; Repair damaged street signs; Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent; with an additional six months to one year of construction or maintenance experience; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Valid Current Driver's License Physical Exam Required Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: The methods, materials, and equipment used in the traffic marking of streets. Ability to: Follow oral and written instructions; perform physical labor.

Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequently walk or stand during the shift. Frequently climb ladders, stairs, or inclined surfaces.

Frequently bend or kneel during a shift. Frequently push or pull objects. Frequently flex upper trunk to the right or left while standing or sitting.

Occasionally reach above, at, and below shoulder height. Use hands and fingers to grasp tools. Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
