What is an EVS Tech?

EVS Techs, or Environmental Services Technicians, are professionals responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. Their primary duties include cleaning patient rooms, restrooms, and public areas, as well as handling hazardous materials and following strict infection control protocols. EVS Techs play a critical role in preventing the spread of infections and ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EVS Tech, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EVS Tech (Environmental Services Technician), you need a solid understanding of cleaning protocols, infection control, and safety standards, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Attention to detail, reliability, and good communication skills help ensure effective service and coordination with other staff.
