Job description

Position Summary

The Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisors objective is to provide a clean, sanitary comfortable atmosphere for Thunderbird Entertainment Center guests and employees while maintaining high levels of customer service and guest experience. The EVS Supervisor will promote sanitary conditions, must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of hazardous materials. The EVS Supervisor will have oversight of EVS employees with guidance from the Lead Supervisor or MOD. The EVS Supervisor will ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal/state/tribal regulatory requirements. The EVS Supervisor will work hours appropriate to meet the needs of the business, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Performs all supervisory responsibilities associated with the EVS department
  • Supervise department employees and assist with schedules, under direction from the Lead Supervisor
  • Responsible for training employees as needed
  • Ensures Thunderbird quality guest experience and cheerful atmosphere is maintained
  • Maintain a pleasant and professional attitude
  • Remain current on all training required within the department and the casino
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
  • Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition
  • Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials
  • Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc
  • Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA
  • Familiarity with MSDS processes
  • Dust Machines, light fixtures, window sills, etc
  • Empty trash containers and ashtrays regularly
  • Consistently monitor and push in chairs throughout the casino
  • Maintain clean sanitary restrooms throughout the facilities
  • Report any needed repairs immediately to Director of Operations and Maintenance (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, etc.)
  • Wash windows and doors as scheduled
  • Check entire facility for spills, water, etc
  • Clean and restock all drink stations except grill at Norman Casino
  • Maintains high levels of confidentiality at all time to protect employees and the organization
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by management

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable of Federal/state/Tribal Employment laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software.
  • Knowledge of various mechanized cleaning equipment, radio and phone systems and various cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilities when necessary; effective time-management skills.
  • Ability to function in a professional manner during high stress/volume situations.
  • Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, Board members, and the public, both in person and through phone, e-mail and written correspondence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to train and supervise a variety of employees at all levels.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirect supervisory responsibilities for EVS staff under the guidance of the Lead Supervisor or MOD.

Physical Demands

  • Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Exposure to smoking and secondhand smoke.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).
  • 2-3 years housekeeping experience required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a key gaming license.
