Job description

Tru-fit Products is looking for a highly organized purchasing clerk. This job requires high attention to detail, computer skills and the willingness to learn. The job will also requiring assisting our production team.


Job Summary; including but not limited to:


  • Order Management: Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness, prepare purchase orders, and submit them to suppliers.
  • Order Tracking: Track the status of incoming orders, contact suppliers to expedite deliveries, and resolve any backorders or shipping discrepancies.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Monitor stock levels and assist in reconciling inventory counts to prevent shortages or surplus.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date files and databases for purchase orders, supplier contracts, price lists, and delivery schedules.
  • Vendor Communication: Build and maintain relationships with vendors, requesting price quotes, handling inquiries, and resolving issues regarding defective or damaged goods.
  • Invoice Reconciliation: Verify that received goods match packing slips and corresponding purchase orders before forwarding to the accounts payable department.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or logistics is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in procurement, inventory control, or a related administrative role.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word) and experience with procurement or ERP systems.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and record maintenance to prevent costly ordering errors.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, paired with strong communication and basic negotiation abilities.

Since 1928 Tru-fit Products Tru-Weld has been manufacturing weld studs and fasteners for a variety of applications. These applications can range from small everyday handheld tools and yard machinery, all the way up to automobiles, aircrafts, bridges, ocean liners, steel structure buildings, and military vehicles. In addition to the fasteners, Tru-Weld also designs, manufactures, and sells its own line of stud welding equipment and accessories. This all encompassing approach to weld studs and fasteners allows Tru-Weld to thoroughly support its customers and all of their unique applications.
