Job description

Institutional Mission:
Nelson University exists to equip students spiritually, academically, professionally, and cross-culturally for their God-given careers and callings.
Position Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator assists with the coordination and execution of internal and external campus events by supporting event logistics, facility readiness, scheduling, and related operational services. This position reports to the Director of Event Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assists with internal and external campus events, particularly supporting the University's summer camp operations.
• Assists with coordination of spaces for campus events (diagrams, maps, arrangements, etc.).
• Assists with HVAC scheduling.
• Assists with 25Live scheduling.
• Walks public and common areas of campus to determine if clean and organized submitting work orders when necessary.
• Serves as a secondary backup to the campus Mail and Copy Center.
• Services campus copiers on as-needed basis, including scheduling and coordinating repairs.
  • Supplies departmental copiers with paper.
  • May supervise student workers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability to perform this job.
• Faith, service and lifestyle that meets University expectations (See IPM sections: "Statement of Core Values," "Doctrinal Statement," "Christian Standards," "Lifestyle Standard.")
• Two years of administrative or clerical experience preferred. Demonstrates experience in event planning and execution preferred.
• Ability to work alone while displaying a high degree of initiative and motivation.
• Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position which includes lifting and carrying boxes of paper, packages, etc.
• Good driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• High level of competence and administrative ability.
• Competent on Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Well-developed communication skills and human relations skills.
• High degree of initiative and motivation.
• Detail oriented.
• Basic knowledge of computers and ability to efficiently operate software necessary for operation of office.
• Sensitivity for the spiritual and educational environmental elements which distinguish the University from other enterprises.
