What is an events internship?

Events internships are temporary positions where students or recent graduates gain hands-on experience in planning, organizing, and executing various types of events, such as conferences, weddings, corporate meetings, or festivals. Interns typically assist with logistics, marketing, vendor coordination, and guest management. These internships provide valuable exposure to the event planning industry and help interns develop organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Many events internships can lead to full-time positions or help interns build a professional network in the field.

What does an events intern do?

As an Events Intern, you can expect a wide variety of hands-on tasks, including assisting with event planning, coordinating logistics, communicating with vendors, managing registration lists, and supporting event set-up and tear-down. You may also help with social media promotion, on-site guest support, and post-event feedback collection. This role often involves working closely with experienced event coordinators and marketing teams, providing valuable exposure to the full event lifecycle and opportunities to develop practical skills in a fast-paced environment.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an events intern?

Familiarity with event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms is often required. Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability are standout soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure smooth event execution, effective collaboration, and the ability to handle the dynamic nature of event environments.

Job description

At Flynn Group, we believe in the power of collaboration and value in-person interactions.

That's why our corporate employees work from the office four days each week, with Fridays reserved for working from home. We believe the best ideas come from spontaneous conversations, teamwork, and building relationships face-to-face. It's how we solve problems, support one another, and continue growing one of the world's largest franchise organizations.

Our Vision for this Role

As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you'll do much more than fill open positions. You'll serve as a trusted partner to business leaders, helping attract exceptional talent that will support the continued growth of Flynn Group.

You'll recruit for a wide variety of corporate positions supporting our offices in Independence, OH, Dallas, TX, and San Francisco, CA. Every day brings something different, whether you're partnering with Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Information Technology, Procurement, Marketing, Real Estate, Project Management, or another shared services team.

If you enjoy building relationships, solving recruiting challenges, and making a meaningful impact, you'll fit right in.

What We'll Accomplish Together

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop recruiting strategies that attract top talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake meetings through offer acceptance and onboarding.
  • Create and manage requisitions within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring jobs, candidate activity, and hiring data remain accurate and up to date.
  • Build strong talent pipelines through proactive sourcing, networking, referrals, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruiting tools.
  • Recruit professional and leadership talent across multiple corporate functions, including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Procurement, Information Technology, Marketing, Project Management, Real Estate, and other shared services.
  • Guide hiring managers through interviews, candidate selection, market trends, and competitive hiring strategies.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through timely communication and a seamless hiring process.
  • Maintain recruiting metrics, pipeline reports, and ATS data to support informed hiring decisions.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on employer branding initiatives, recruiting events, internship programs, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Help strengthen Flynn Group's employment brand by representing our culture and values throughout every candidate interaction.

What You Bring

  • At least 6 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably supporting corporate or professional positions.
  • Experience recruiting across multiple business functions such as Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Legal, Procurement, or similar corporate departments.
  • Strong sourcing skills with the ability to identify and engage passive candidates.
  • Experience working in an Applicant Tracking System and managing requisitions from beginning to end.
  • Confidence partnering directly with hiring managers and serving as a trusted recruiting advisor.
  • Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple searches while keeping candidates and hiring managers informed.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for building relationships.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, but equivalent experience is welcome.

Why Work for Flynn?

At Flynn Group, you'll join a collaborative Talent Acquisition team that values new ideas, continuous improvement, and helping one another succeed. As Flynn continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to recruit across multiple corporate functions, build lasting relationships with business leaders, and make a visible impact on our organization.

We offer a variety of benefits and perks designed to help you thrive both personally and professionally, including:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Short- and Long-Term Disability
  • Life Insurance
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Paid Time Off
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (In Office Monday-Thursday, Work From Home Friday)
  • Company Outings
  • Dining Discounts
  • On-Site Fitness Center
  • On-Site Daycare
  • On-Site Cafe
  • A collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together

And yes...we like to have fun, too.
