At StoryBrand and Coach Builder, we are committed to helping businesses clarify their message and helping coaches transform more lives for a living.

We're looking for an experienced Events & Hospitality Director to create exceptional experiences for our customers, communities, team members, and guests. This role owns the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of our events, hospitality programs, and physical spaces, ensuring every interaction with our brands reflects a high standard of care and excellence.

This person will lead events ranging from workshops and trainings to retreats, masterminds, and community gatherings while helping shape and expand future event offerings as we grow into our Music Row building.

In addition to event ownership, this role is responsible for creating an outstanding workplace and hospitality experience within our offices. They will ensure our spaces are welcoming, organized, and thoughtfully designed so that employees, customers, and guests genuinely enjoy spending time there.

Success in this role means creating experiences people love while ensuring our events and hospitality operations are organized, scalable, and financially healthy.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Strategy & Execution

  • Own the entire event portfolio, including workshops, trainings, retreats, mastermind events, community gatherings, and other special events.
  • Create exceptional event experiences that strengthen community, increase engagement, and deliver meaningful value to attendees.
  • Infuse Unreasonable Hospitality into every detail, creating memorable experiences that leave a lasting impact.
  • Own the entire event lifecycle from planning and promotion through execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Manage event budgets, forecasts, and P&Ls, balancing exceptional attendee experiences with strong financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop systems, playbooks, and processes that create consistency and scalability across all events.
  • Partner with marketing, content, and operations teams to ensure events are aligned, promoted effectively, and executed seamlessly.
  • Gather feedback and identify opportunities to continuously improve the attendee experience and event outcomes.
  • Anticipate challenges and solve problems proactively so attendees, speakers, and guests experience a seamless event.

Hospitality & Workplace Experience

  • Own the hospitality experience for StoryBrand's headquarters and future Music Row building.
  • Create spaces that are welcoming, organized, comfortable, and enjoyable for employees, customers, and guests.
  • Continuously improve the workplace experience through thoughtful systems, amenities, and hospitality-focused enhancements.
  • Ensure office spaces remain stocked, guest-ready, and reflective of our commitment to hospitality.
  • Partner with vendors and service providers to maintain a consistently excellent experience throughout our facilities.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or experience design, preferably in a customer-facing or high-touch environment.
  • A proven track record of executing exceptional events, from intimate masterminds to large-scale community gatherings and conferences.
  • Strong understanding of event logistics, operations, and high-end customer experience.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems before they arise.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience juggling multiple events and competing priorities.
  • Experience managing event budgets, financial performance, or P&L responsibility.
  • Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends when event schedules require it.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to make people feel welcome and valued.
  • Experience working with vendors, venues, AV teams, and production crews.
  • A deep appreciation for hospitality, customer experience, and creating truly special moments.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with last-minute changes and high expectations.
Key Competencies:
  • Hospitality-Obsessed: Committed to making every attendee feel seen, valued, and well taken care of. Bonus points if you’ve read Unreasonable Hospitality!
  • Master of Details: Nothing slips through the cracks—you anticipate every need before it arises.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Able to handle last-minute changes and high-profile events with grace and confidence.
