Job description

As a member of the service team as a new Zelus family member, you will join a diverse, dynamic group of highly motivated individuals that bring with them a wide array of talents, skills and backgrounds. This role will perform various tasks while working out in the field.  Installations, repair service and preventative maintenance including inspections of overhead cranes, hoists and other material handling equipment. 


This role is currently vacant and is being filled due to an existing position becoming available.


The Project Manager at Zelus is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects that support the company's operational and strategic objectives. This role oversees projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.


The Project Manager will collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to develop project plans, manage resources, monitor progress, and proactively address risks and challenges. This position plays a critical role in maintaining effective communication, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving successful project execution across multiple initiatives.


Working closely with operations, engineering, field personnel, and senior leadership, the Project Manager will help optimize project delivery processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the successful growth of the organization through effective planning, coordination, and execution.


This role is integral to ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining Zelus' commitment to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.


WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Reviewing contracts & Purchase Orders, and confirming they align with Zelus Material Handling Inc.’s quoted scope of work and payment terms
  • Processing of new orders for presentation to Supply Chain, Engineering/Design, Production & Installation
  • Develop and communicate project’s plans with cross-functional teams
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and other Zelus departments
  • Communicate with customer to ensure that project’s contract documents, equipment approvals, scheduling of installation and commissioning of equipment is in place
  • Administrative Support, preparation of manuals, documents & forms
  • Analyze shop drawings as built and other contract required documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Preparing projects’ cost reports & managing projects’ budgets
  • Make every effort to maintain project profitability, capturing changes to the scope of work with the customer and warranty charge backs with suppliers
  • Accurate, competitive and profitable estimation of customers’ new equipment opportunities
  • Utilization of Quoting & CRM software for thorough recording of estimates and customer information
  • Reviewing tender documents and specifications
  • Follow up on any outstanding estimates
  • Support the sales team by turning around the Requests for Quotation in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation (OHSA), promote safe working practices including safe equipment operation, hazard reporting, and awareness of rights
  • Perform other duties as assigned


WHAT YOU WILL NEED


  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technologist/equivalent diploma
  • Minimum two years’ experience in material handling or electromechanical systems would be considered an asset
  • Experience in construction project management or a manufacturing background is considered an asset
  • Knowledge or experience with PMBOK standards & best practices would be an asset
  • Previous experience in modernization projects is key
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively support multiple projects to completion; meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter; able to work with limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, risk management skills, works well under pressure and deals with conflict effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff and on your own
  • Strong computer skills; MS Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD & SolidWorks is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in resolving customer service issues
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with shop floor tools and processes is a must
