Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Temporary Security Guards for one of Toronto's most iconic summer events!

Event Security Guard – Temporary Contract
Location: Toronto Waterfront Fairgrounds
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Schedule: All shifts available (Monday to Sunday)

About the Role:
Join our security team for a premier event at the Toronto Waterfront Fairgrounds. We are looking for professional, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees. Whether you’re experienced or looking to start your security career, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of Toronto’s top summer events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Visible Presence: Act as a deterrent by maintaining a strong, professional security presence throughout the event grounds.

  • Enforce Regulations: Uphold event rules, enforce the Liquor Licence Act and Toronto Smoking By-Laws, and ensure compliance with AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) standards.

  • Monitor for Threats: Stay alert to detect and report suspicious behaviour or security concerns.

  • Crowd Control: Assist in managing guest flow, prevent overcrowding, and help guide attendees safely throughout the venue.

  • Respond to Emergencies: Provide support during emergency situations, including evacuations, first response, or directing patrons to safety.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License (Required)

  • Valid Smart Serve Certificate (Required)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with guests and team members

  • Previous experience in event security or nightlife/bar venues is an asset but not required

Working Conditions:

  • Must be comfortable standing for long periods

  • Role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions
