Events Manager

About Slide

Slide is a modern, security-first Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) company built exclusively for Managed Service Providers. Founded by Austin McChord (Datto Founder & former CEO) and Michael Fass (former Datto General Counsel & Chief People Officer), Slide is led by a team of industry veterans with deep expertise in backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity. Built from scratch, from a clean-room code base, free from legacy technical debt, to deliver the MSP-centric backup and recovery platform of the future. By focusing on security, performance, and simplicity, Slide provides a powerful, cost-effective, and easy-to-use solution that ensures MSPs can protect their clients' data without the constraints of outdated technology and restrictive pricing models.

About the Job

The Events Manager is responsible for owning and scaling Slide's events strategy end-to-end. This role is responsible for defining the event roadmap, managing execution across a portfolio of events (tradeshows, internal events, webinars, etc.), and leading a small team of event coordinators and contractors.

This is a highly cross-functional role that partners closely with sales, marketing, and leadership to ensure events drive meaningful pipeline, brand presence, and partner engagement. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on—capable of building systems and processes while ensuring flawless execution on the ground.

Responsibilities

  • Own Slide's events program end-to-end, setting direction and ensuring the team delivers from planning through execution and follow-through
  • Build and run an events roadmap aligned to company goals and maximizing pipeline impact
  • Lead and develop a team of event coordinators by setting priorities, raising execution standards, and supporting team members' growth
  • Put clear processes in place so events run smoothly and consistently without constant oversight
  • Manage vendors, venues, and event tech, including contract negotiation and ongoing relationships
  • Oversee swag and event inventory to keep it organized, on-brand, and within budget
  • Define success metrics and track performance across events, then use those insights to improve the event program in the future
  • Own post-event follow-up in HubSpot, including lead routing, sequencing, and alignment with sales
  • Partner closely with sales and marketing leadership to ensure events are driving real business outcomes
  • Build systems that help the program scale across planning, execution, and reporting
  • Continuously improve how we approach events based on data, feedback, what's working in the field, and new ideas and trends across the industry
  • Help decide where we show up and how we invest, based on impact and opportunity

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in event management or marketing operations, with demonstrated ownership of events from planning through execution.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Experience exercising excellent judgment in managing competing priorities and adapting plans to achieve business goals.
  • Experience managing event budgets and vendor relationships with accountability for outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, HubSpot, and event management platforms; ability to assess and implement tools to support program needs.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel (20%) and work flexible hours as required by the event calendar.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
