Job description

Job Title: Day Habilitation Program Director

Location: In-person – Pittsfield, MA

Schedule: Full-Time Exempt Position | 40 hours/week | M-F 8a-4p

Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Reports To: Senior Program Director

Supervises: Day Habilitation Program Staff

Position Summary: The Day Habilitation Program Director provides leadership, oversight, and daily operational management of the Day Habilitation Program. This role ensures high-quality services for all program participants, maintains full regulatory compliance, supports staff development, and upholds the agency’s mission, values, and professional standards.

Essential Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Administration

· Oversee daily operations of the Day Habilitation Program.

· Ensure program compliance with state, federal, and MassHealth regulations.

· Maintain program policies, consumer intakes, and contractual goals.

· Manage the program budget, supplies, and physical environment.

· Ensure timely, high-quality completion of all required documentation and reporting.

Staff Leadership & Development

· Supervise, coach, and evaluate program staff and consultants.

· Oversee staff hiring, training, scheduling and coverage.

· Provide technical assistance, guidance and support to team members.

Consumer Support & Advocacy

· Oversee consumer programming, service plans, goals and behavior support plans.

· Advocate for consumer rights and ensure services promote dignity, independence, and safety.

· Assist with ambulation, transfers, and lifting (up to 60 lbs.)

· Intervene in behavioral emergencies, including the use of physical restraints when required.

Communication & Collaboration

· Maintain open, professional communication with staff, consumers, families, and partnering agencies.

· Participate in or lead required meetings, trainings and events, including open houses.

Qualifications

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred

OR

· Six years of relevant healthcare experience, including three years in a supervisory role.

Experience

· Minimum of three years of relevant health-care experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
