Job Summary
The Operations & Event Manager is one of the leadership positions within Sexy Nerds, and an advanced manager role. The OEM is responsible for working on 1) day-to-day operations of the business, and 2) the successful execution of our live events.
This position combines remote/WFH work with hands-on event leadership. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, solutions-oriented, friendly, having situational awareness, and capable of taking ownership over aspects of Sexy Nerds’s regular operations.
This OEM role starts locally and regionally and offers growth, and opportunities for creative and increased responsibility, hours, and wage, as Sexy Nerds continues to produce events in our 35+ cities around the globe and beyond.
Primary Responsibilities
Office Operations (Approximately 10–25 Hours Weekly),
Starting at 10-15 hours a week of Office Hours
Coordinate and oversee many of the ongoing administrative operations that keep Sexy Nerds running efficiently, particularly during the day M-W between an 11:00AM - 6:00PM time frame.
Responsibilities may include:
1) Venue Outreach and Development
(Approximately 1–3 hours weekly)
2) Personnel & Recruiting
(Approximately 1–3 hours weekly)
3) Website & Event Management
(Approximately 1–2 hours weekly)
4) Customer Service
(Approximately 1–3 hours weekly)
5) Marketing Support
(Approximately 1–3 hours weekly)
Event Management Responsibilities
(Approximately 5–10 Hours Per Event)
Serve as one of the primary operational leaders during Sexy Nerds events.
Responsibilities include:
1) Event Leadership

5)Responsible Travel
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience managing events, operations, hospitality, nightlife, conventions, or entertainment.
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred. Ability to rent a car especially preferred.
Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable managing staff and delegating responsibilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Professional demeanor under pressure.
Comfortable transporting event equipment.
Familiarity with audio/visual equipment, gaming consoles, and event production is a plus.
Experience with Mailchimp, Meta Ads, Squarespace, Google Workspace, Discord, or similar platforms is highly applicable.
