J and R Property Services is looking for an experienced, organized, and driven Plow Manager to oversee our Commercial Snow Operations Team. This leadership position is responsible for managing both our Commercial Plow Operators and Winter Skid Steer/Loader Operators, ensuring every snow event is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The Plow Manager serves as the operational leader for winter storm response, overseeing personnel, equipment, scheduling, route execution, and customer service while working closely with company leadership to ensure every storm is a success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all commercial plow and skid steer snow removal operations during winter weather events.
  • Supervise Plow Supervisors, Commercial Plow Operators, and Winter Skid Steer Operators.
  • Develop, assign, and adjust routes to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor weather forecasts and prepare crews, equipment, and materials before and after each storm.
  • Coordinate staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for every snow event.
  • Oversee equipment readiness, maintenance scheduling, and operational efficiency.
  • Dispatch crews and maintain communication throughout winter operations.
  • Monitor route progress using service tracking systems and provide real-time operational support.
  • Ensure all commercial properties are serviced according to contract specifications and company quality standards.
  • Handle customer concerns, service requests, and emergency situations professionally.
  • Investigate accidents, equipment failures, and service issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Continuously train, mentor, and develop supervisors and equipment operators.
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and operational expectations.
  • Work closely with company leadership to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in planning and preparing for the winter season, including equipment readiness, route planning, and employee training.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid New York State Driver's License (CDL preferred but not required)
  • Extensive experience in commercial snow and ice management
  • Previous management experience leading multiple crews and equipment operators
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and make critical decisions during high-pressure weather events
  • Experience managing snow routes, dispatching crews, and coordinating equipment
  • Ability to safely operate snowplow equipment in severe winter conditions
  • Ability to work extended hours during snow events
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to be on call to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation to report for work
