Job Skills / Requirements

United Protective Services is currently seeking a dependable and professional Full-Time Security Officer for a permanent afternoon/evening position.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, observant, professional, and comfortable interacting with clients, customers, vendors, and members of the public. Security Officers are expected to maintain constant awareness of their surroundings, document activity appropriately, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.

Schedule

Saturday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Monday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Wednesday: OFF Thursday: OFF Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

40 hours per week

Job Duties

  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the assigned property.

  • Conduct regular patrols in accordance with site-specific Post Orders.

  • Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, security issues, and property damage.

  • Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies occurring on the property.

  • Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate Daily Activity Reports and other required security documentation.

  • Complete detailed Incident Reports for unusual or significant events.

  • Ensure entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated locations are monitored as required.

  • Assist clients with reasonable security-related duties as assigned.

  • Interact professionally with clients, tenants, customers, vendors, visitors, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.

  • Maintain accountability for all United Protective Services equipment issued or assigned to the site.

  • Follow all United Protective Services policies, procedures, and site-specific Post Orders.

  • Assist with training new officers on site procedures when directed by management.

  • Immediately notify management of serious incidents, emergencies, or significant security concerns.

  • Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Former Military/Corrections/Law Enforcement is required.

  • Excellent attendance and reliability are required.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, vendors, and members of the public.

  • Ability to remain alert and observant throughout the shift.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to perform patrols both indoors and outdoors.

  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to follow written Post Orders and UPS management instructions.

  • Ability to accurately document activities and incidents.

  • Must be dependable and capable of working the assigned schedule consistently.
