As we continue to expand our presence in the industry, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Pizza Cook to join our high-volume kitchen team.

Job Overview

As a Pizza Cook at Backyard Gilbert, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced sports bar environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in pizza preparation, thrives during high-volume service, and takes pride in producing consistent, exceptional pizzas with speed and accuracy. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure every guest receives outstanding food and service while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Stretch, top, and bake pizzas efficiently during high-volume service periods.
  • Safely operate pizza ovens while maintaining proper cooking temperatures.
  • Prepare pizza dough, sauces, cheeses, and toppings for daily service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation while following food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to kitchen management.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely ticket completion and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties as needed.
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards for every order.
  • Follow all company recipes, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Minimum of 2 years of pizza-making experience in a high-volume restaurant, sports bar, or pizzeria.
  • Strong knowledge of dough stretching, pizza assembly, and oven operation.
  • Experience operating deck ovens and/or conveyor ovens.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality during busy lunch, dinner, game days, and peak service periods.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely work around hot equipment and commercial kitchen appliances.
