Job description

Spruce Restaurant, in Pacific Heights neighborhood in San Francisco Bay Area is looking to add a full-time sommelier and hospitality professional to our Wine Spectator Grand Award Program. Ideal candidates would have fine-dining serving experience and be in pursuit of additional certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Spruce and the Bacchus Management Group, specifically promote continued education through the CMS, with increased incentives for success at various CMS accreditation levels. BMG offers an unrivaled oenological benefits package beyond health care. Such benefits include:

  • Working with Master Sommelier Jeremiah Morehouse
  • Working with a Wine Spectator Grand Award wine list with over 2,600 selections
  • Annual, all-expenses-paid European travel opportunities to visit historic wine growing regions
  • Full reimbursement for successful passes of CMS Introductory and Certified examinations
  • $1,500 annual stipend for Advanced Course/Advanced Exam/Masters Exam Tuition and Expenses
  • Compensation incentives for successful passes of the CMS Introductory, Certified and Advanced examinations with commensurate recognition of WSET levels.
  • Sales Commission percentage in addition to base salary
  • $125 quarterly educational reimbursement allowance for books, magazine subscriptions, GuildSomm membership etc.
  • 401k with company contribution for all employees (4% match on 5% contribution)
  • Monthly Cell-phone reimbursement for full-time positions
  • Two weeks Paid-time off for full-time positions, with an additional day for every year of tenure
