Job description

Although this role is advertised in the UK (London) and Switzerland (Baar), applications from other EU locations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Oncology portfolio is central to GSK's growth strategy, with the Lung portfolio playing a pivotal role in delivering both near- and long-term ambitions across Europe. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the heart of our transformation in Oncology.
Role Overview
As Commercial Head, Lung Europe, you will be accountable for defining and delivering the European commercial strategy for GSK's lung oncology portfolio as we move through late-stage development and prepare for commercialisation. You will translate global strategy into execution across EU4, the UK and Area markets, ensuring tight alignment across Local Operating Companies (LOCs), the European Region, and Global teams.
You will lead launch readiness and activation, optimise portfolio performance, and ensure that patients across Europe can access GSK's medicines while delivering strong commercial outcomes. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of GSK's Oncology business in Europe, influence key investment decisions, and lead multiple launches in a dynamic, competitive environment.
________________________________________
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
Define and lead the European Lung commercial strategy, aligned with the global direction and broader Oncology ambitions.
Translate global strategy into clear, actionable regional and local plans across EU4, the UK and Area markets.
Represent the European commercial perspective in key governance forums, including input into GDS / EU SmPC development.
Launch Excellence & Portfolio Performance
Lead end-to-end launch readiness and activation across European markets, including sequencing and alignment across markets and functions.
Develop and execute launch sequencing strategies, reflecting pricing and market access dynamics to optimise patient access and commercial outcomes.
Drive performance management across European LOCs, including establishment of KPIs, performance tracking, and timely intervention where required.
Represent European Lung performance and LOC perspectives, influencing P&L delivery and ensuring transparency on risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
Identify performance gaps and opportunities, and drive corrective and acceleration actions across markets.
Cross-Functional & Cross-Market Leadership
Act as the primary European interface with the Global Therapy Area (TA), ensuring European customer and market insights shape strategy, evidence generation and positioning.
Align and secure cross-functional resources, orchestrating support to markets and addressing barriers to delivery of strategic priorities.
Enable cross-market learning and adoption of best practice to accelerate performance across the portfolio.
Build organisational readiness and capability to support multiple concurrent launches and ongoing lifecycle management.
________________________________________
About You
We are looking for a strategic, commercially driven leader with deep oncology expertise and a proven ability to deliver in complex, matrix environments. You combine strong strategic thinking with disciplined execution, and you are motivated by improving outcomes for patients.
________________________________________
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Significant commercial experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Proven experience in oncology, ideally within lung cancer.
Strong track record of leading successful product launches across multiple European markets.
Experience working across both local (country/LOC) and above-country roles.
Strong understanding of market access, pricing, and go-to-market strategies in Europe.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Proven ability to translate strategy into execution and deliver measurable business impact.
________________________________________
Preferred
Postgraduate qualification in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Experience in highly competitive specialty-care environments and/or with innovative oncology launches is an advantage.
________________________________________
Key Capabilities & Behaviours
Strategic thinking with a strong focus on execution and delivery.
Influential leadership and stakeholder management across complex, matrix organisations.
Data-driven decision-making and performance management.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and provide clear direction in evolving environments.
