QA Inspector
Department: Quality
Location: Spring Hill, TN
The QA Inspector will perform routine auditing, equipment calibration, record keeping and overall verification that production areas follow cGMP and SOP requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Routinely monitor employees to endure that cGMP standards and internal SOPs are followed in all areas of the production and warehouse;
  • Follow cGMP, food safety, Quality guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
  • Employee practices (hygiene and prevention of cross contamination);
  • Good documentation practices and record keeping;
  • Assure that every aspect of batch record is reconciled (final product yield, label reconciliation, waste) and documented completely;
  • Monitor temperature, humidity, scale operation and calibration;
  • Monitor overall plant sanitation and conduct swabbing as required by production;
  • Examine incoming raw materials, in-process products and outgoing products for overall quality;
  • Complete QC daily and weekly reports;
  • Monitor allergen handling throughout production by sanitations and product labeling;
  • Complete batch record close out at the end of production run;
  • Perform taste test and systematic blend release;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills
  • High school diploma required;
  • 1+ year work experience; preferred experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Strong math skills;
  • Preferred previous experience in quality, safety and sanitation;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good organizational skills with great attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to stand for extended hours;
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.;
  • Must be able to wear all the required PPE including, but not limited to face mask, goggles, scrubs and hair net;
  • Ability to work in a packaging area with moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator;
  • Other physical requirements include bi-lateral hand and wrist movement as well as moderate squatting, bending and twisting;
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
