Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs a variety of preventive maintenance and machine repair duties according to manufacturer equipment service manuals, factory guidelines, and management’s instructions; in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in the maintenance department and within GMP and ‘food grade work’ guidelines.
Main Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), SOP’s, equipment, and safety practices;
  • Comply with and promote all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations and the wearing of all required PPE;
  • Promptly address mechanical breakdown issues, production line adjustment issues, equipment swap-out requirements (lot coders, conveyors, sealing / closure equipment such as bag sealers and capping machines, etc.), identify and assist in resolution of any safety issues in regard to any aspect of the overall facility, production lines and the warehouse;
  • Facilitate and maintain 5-S implementation and ongoing requirements;
  • Assist in projects for facility improvement, capability expansion and efficiency improvements;
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Requirements and Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED, vocational or college education preferred;
  • Two years’ experience in a maintenance environment; electrical, machine or multi-craft maintenance technical certificate may be considered for substitute of experience;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Attention to detail in the maintenance area;
  • Ability to complete tasks under limited supervision;
  • Strong written communication skills with an emphasis on technical documents and records;
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to stand for extended hours;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
  • Ability to wear any required PPE;
  • Other physical requirements include bi-lateral hand and wrist movement and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting;
  • Ability to work around a variation of different smells and aromas;
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
