Job description

Student Assistant

The Employment Training Panel (ETP) is currently recruiting for a Student Assistant in the Finance Section. The incumbent will work under the direction of the manager in the Sacramento Headquarters.

Incumbent will assist in analyzing contracts, amendments, project statistical reports, contractor invoices and other entry-level duties in support of ETP policies and procedures. The Student Assistants will not perform clerical duties, although their support will provide for better utilization of incumbent clerical staff.

Participation in telework is subject to the Department's policies and supervisor's approval.

The job is in Sacramento. This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under ETP's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

This is a non-testing classification, therefore anyone meeting the minimum qualifications listed on the classification specification may apply for this position. Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, a formerly incarcerated youth, or a victim of human trafficking as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
