About the Role:
Beach City Builders Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer - Estimating Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Escondido, CA.ย  This position directly assists the Sr. Project Director across Project Management, Preconstruction, and core operations. As a Project Engineer - Estimating Coordinator, you will keep project documentation organized, assist with bidding and precon tasks, and streamline communication between field crews and subcontractors. We are looking for a sharp, organized individual who navigates changing priorities with a positive, proactive mindsetย 
Responsibilities:
Executive Support
  • ย  ย  ย Support the Sr. Project Director with task tracking, follow-ups, and organized documentation.
  • ย  ย  ย Prepare clean, professional correspondence, summaries, and meeting materials.
  • ย  ย  ย Optimize workflows to allow the Sr. Project Director to focus on high-level strategic responsibilities.
Field & Subcontractor Coordination
  • ย  ย  Communicate with field superintendents to track submittals, RFIs, deliveries, and project needs.
  • ย  ย  Coordinate with subcontractors on bids, COIs, change orders, and required documentation.
  • ย  ย  Assist with weekly project photos, updates, and meeting minutes.
Preconstruction & Estimating Support
  • ย  ย  Solicit and organize subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • ย  ย  Assist with assembling GMP Books, proposal packages, and estimate backup.
Project Administration
  • ย  ย  Draft and track change orders, purchase orders, and subcontractor change orders.
  • ย  ย  Process and maintain submittals, RFIs, and project logs.
Close-Out
  • ย  ย  Gather and prepare close-out documents, O&M manuals, and warranty packages.
ย Requirements:
  • ย Preferred: 5โ€“7 years of estimating or project engineering experience in the construction industry.
  • ย Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Sage 100 Construction software a plus.
  • ย Strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate between field staff, subcontractors, and management.
  • ย Excellent organization and time management to track schedules, RFIs, and submittals.
  • ย A proactive, quick-thinking problem solver built for a fast-paced environment supporting Project Managers.
