Job description

Job Title: Esports Team Manager Work Study
Location: MCC - Esports Arena / Console Lounge
Department: Esports
Reports to: Esports Head Coach
Semester: Full year
Number of Openings: 2
Rate of Pay: $10.00 per hour
Summary: The MCC Esports Team Manager provides administrative support to the Marshalltown Community College Esports program. Responsibilities include, but not limited to responding to and fulfilling administrative requests made by the coaching staff, managing email communications between the esports program and third parties, moderating the MCC Esports Twitch & YouTube channels, supervising and managing communications for Division 3 competition, supervising student study tables once per week, assisting with scouting reports for the teams, and/or social media management of the MCC Esports social media accounts. The job candidate will strive to help the student-athletes and coaching staff of the MCC Esports program succeed by handling important behind-the-scenes tasks befitting a team manager.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Complete secretarial and administrative tasks assigned by the MCC coaching staff promptly.
  • Supervise Division 3 NJCAAE matches for titles that compete in them, including match chat operation using league tournament platforms
  • Attend IAHSEA Finals events as needed
  • Engage in written communications with other coaches, students, and other parties via league tournament platforms, Discord, email, etc.
  • Assist with personnel management of MCC Esports student-athletes competing in Division 3 NJCAAE matches
  • Supervise student study tables once per week
  • Build and manage scouting reports for the esports teams
  • Answer general student inquiries in-person or via Discord
  • Manage and create content for MCC social media accounts, as needed

Abilities:
  • Ability to represent MCC as a professional in both communications and behavior
  • Ability to navigate software such as PlayVS, Discord, Word, Excel, or equivalents
  • Ability to compose professional written responses to emails and messages
  • Ability to problem solve and respond to situations in a timely fashion
  • Ability to manage peers and supervise students in a personnel management role
  • Ability to create and operate professional social media accounts

Education and Experience: HS Diploma or equivalent
