Job Description:

At the direction of the ESPN Events, Director of Events and Basketball Operations, the Events Coordinator provides support and oversight of specific event operations; assist on sales proposals and recaps, and internal administrative functions of the ESPN Events Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides onsite operational support for various ESPN Events-owned basketball and football events
  • Assists on assigned projects relating to the owned and operated events including ticket and marketing strategies, and game operations
  • Supports efforts related to the recruitment and tracking of teams for basketball events and managing historical event data
  • Provides key operational support to the ESPN Events Division including sales support, inventory control, and sales fulfillment
  • Assists events group in various administrative roles including but not limited to event gift and inventory management and accounting/budget management for specific assigned events
  • Supports additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional or large event-based setting
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge and use of all Microsoft office programs
  • Self-starter, attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional setting
  • Extensive understanding of college athletics
  • Creative thinker needed to assist in the development and implementation of marketing proposals and materials
  • Experience in event coordination and planning
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Adobe; knowledge of Photoshop or Illustrator a plus

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sports Management or related field

The hiring range for this position in Charlotte, NC is $51,500.00 to $68,900.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
