SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Senior Sourcing Specialist – ESG (Acrylic Technologies) is responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and managing suppliers of multilayer films, backing materials, adhesive systems, and related raw materials used in adhesive tape and building product applications. This role combines technical material expertise with strategic sourcing responsibilities to ensure reliable supply, optimal cost, and consistent quality. The position supports product development, manufacturing, and customer requirements by identifying and evaluating material solutions that meet performance specifications. The incumbent collaborates closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Sales, and suppliers to drive sourcing initiatives and risk mitigation strategies. The role also supports supplier negotiations, cost-reduction programs, and continuity planning while maintaining a focus on material performance in building and construction environments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers of multilayer films, backing materials, adhesive systems, and ancillary materials.
  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes for films, backings, and adhesive technologies, including technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to support quality, delivery, capacity, innovation, and cost objectives.
  • Analyze total landed costs, including raw materials, processing, freight, tariffs, scrap, and yield considerations.
  • Support supplier negotiations, pricing agreements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Manage supplier performance through established KPIs and corrective action processes as needed.
  • Support dual-sourcing and business continuity strategies for critical materials.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Sales to identify and implement material solutions.
  • Translate customer and application requirements into material specifications and sourcing strategies.
  • Support OEM, distributor, and contractor‑driven business requirements by aligning sourced materials with performance expectations.
  • Maintain approved supplier lists, material specifications, pricing information, and sourcing data within ERP and sourcing systems.
  • Tracks spend, supplier performance, cost savings, and supply risk metrics.
  • Prepare sourcing reports, market intelligence updates, and supply risk assessments.
  • Travel as required to supplier facilities, customer locations, and industry events.

  • Knowledge of acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive systems and related material applications.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze costs and develop sourcing recommendations.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business systems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience sourcing or supporting films, backings, adhesive systems, or related materials.
  • Experience conducting supplier evaluations, RFQs, cost modeling, and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Preferred experience within pressure-sensitive adhesives, industrial laminates, building envelope products, or construction-related materials.
  • Preferred knowledge of global sourcing, tariffs, and import/export considerations.
  • Preferred experience with supplier audits, quality systems, and material change management processes.
  • APICS, CPSM, CPP, or similar professional certification preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
