The Opportunity

Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Analyst, ESG Financial Reporting.

This position will play an important role in Abbott's compliance with external reporting requirements related to Environmental Social Governance (ESG) financial reporting. Abbott has a robust history of voluntary ESG reporting and has many initiatives underway to advance strategic priorities in these areas. This role will support the company's assessment of ESG external reporting requirements, current processes related to collecting and reporting ESG related data, and designing and documenting the internal governance over the process. This role may assist in other significant projects - which vary based on our business transactions and priorities (e.g. financial reporting & ESG policies, benchmarking, training initiatives, etc.).

What You'll Work On:

Individual is responsible for supporting the assessment of new and evolving ESG reporting requirements, including impact assessment and ensuring proper controls around financial reporting are established/maintained related to ESG reporting.

  • Assist in implementing EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), IFRS - Internaional Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and other external reporting ESG reporting requirements.

  • Work closely with stakeholders, including Global Citizenship and Sustainability, Global Environmental Health and Safety (GEHS), Corporate Legal, HR, Internal Audit, etc., to assess and implement a process to collect and validate information in a timely manner to comply with required ESG disclosures.

  • Assists in researching requirements for new sustainability regulations

  • Assist with the identification, and implementation of internal controls related to ESG reporting.

  • Work with Global Citizenship and Internal Audit to assist in process and reviews for additional ESG reporting such as the Global Sustainability Report.

  • Support the training and education throughout the organization on financial reporting aspects of ESG, as needed.

  • Assist in accounting research and consideration of sustainability related transactions that Abbott may consider.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and 4+ years of experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • External reporting or prior public accounting experience preferred

  • Fundamentals of Sustainability Accreditation - IFRS Foundation Accounting preferred

  • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 - $156,000.00
