The Role

Blue Owl is seeking an Analyst / Associate to join the Responsible Investing & ESG team. The team works across Blue Owl's investment platforms to integrate material environmental, social, and governance considerations into the investment lifecycle and to support value creation, risk management, and transparency for investors.

This is a rare opportunity to sit on a small, nimble team with an outsized mandate, one where a single person can meaningfully shape how ESG shows up across the firm's investment platforms. The Analyst / Associate will work on a highly collaborative ESG team embedded within an investment organization, supporting ESG integration, fortifying client relationships, and elevating the firm's responsible investing effectiveness and brand.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, a quick learner, a strong communicator and writer, with a keen interest in responsible investing and the ability to operate as a versatile contributor across research, data & analytics, reporting, thought leadership and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • This role touches nearly every part of how Blue Owl approaches responsible investing. On any given week, this could mean running the annual ESG data collection cycle across portfolio companies and GP stakes managers, building out financed emissions methodology, or exploring how AI can streamline data and reporting workflows.

  • The role will help shape how ESG integration is assessed and strengthened across platforms and strategies, build and maintain the systems that track LP ESG engagement across our funds, and own investor responses and the firm's ESG content library.

  • It also spans marketing decks, thought leadership, and public disclosures such as our Corporate Sustainability disclosure document, along with our UNPRI reporting cycle and participation in industry groups like PCAF.

  • Above all, the role partners closely with investment teams, Legal & Compliance, Sales, and Corporate Operations, with room to take on strategic projects as the team's priorities evolve.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in ESG/sustainable investing, banking, asset management, or consulting, with exposure to private markets a plus.

  • Collaborative & Persuasive - You thrive in a highly collaborative environment and can build trust with internal teams and external stakeholders. You challenge the status quo while remaining open to diverse perspectives.

  • Strategic & Analytical - You are comfortable setting priorities, managing projects, working through complex data analytics, and problem-solving across ESG topics.

  • Strong academic credentials

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

  • Leverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency

  • Organized & Deadline-Driven - Comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams and hard external deadlines with strong attention to detail

  • Framework Fluent - Familiarity with ESG and sustainability standards and frameworks such as SASB/ISSB, PRI, TCFD is a plus.

  • Experience with ESG data platforms and analytics tools such as emissions estimations, a plus

  • Familiarity with RFP/DDQ management platforms, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and ESG rating agency portals (e.g., MSCI), a plus

The base annual salary range for this New York-based position will be $100,000 to $130,000. Actual salary offered will be based on the candidate's skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.

Benefits for this role include Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k), Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, Short Term Disability insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance, Family Planning Support, Paid Time Off, and Leave of Absences. All such benefits are subject to the terms/conditions of the Company's benefits plans and policies.
