Job Description:
The Epicor/ERP Specialist is a specialist level position that will guide and maintain the Indianapolis and Wisconsin (remotely) Alliance IT team. This position analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Gathers business requirements, conducts needs assessments, and develops functional specifications to ensure that developed information technology solutions support business objectives.
The position is a Specialist level professional recognized as expert in own area within the organization; has depth/breadth of expertise in ERP systems and implementation. Works independently with guidance only in the most complex situations. Solves difficult and complex problems and takes a broad perspective in identifying solutions; may lead functional teams or projects; coaches, delegates, and reviews work of less experienced team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be instrumental in implementing our MRP system. Our system will drive the results and visibility in the manufacturing, purchasing and accounting space.
  • Load or create data to populate the Epicor MRP system from Bill of Materials (BOM's) and other data points.
  • Create the purchasing process for purchasing raw materials using the system.
  • Validate Data for integrity and use within the system
  • Utilize various reports to ensure stakeholders visibility
  • Ensure manufacturing scheduling using the full Epicor system

  • Run reports to identify data anomalies and take steps to correct data as well as underlying issues when possible
  • Help leads and other users with labor ticket issues
  • Create manual labor tickets as needed and when appropriate
  • Troubleshoot user issues with the ERP system
  • Train and educate users on use of the ERP system and other software such as Excel
  • Conduct barcode training for new users
  • Make and test barcode badges
  • Create and manage new employees in Visual
  • Create and manage new Visual user accounts
  • Support physical inventory cycle count process and data management
  • Support month end process with various tasks
  • Engage with users to understand their challenges and help determine possible solutions
  • Test new functionality and make recommendations
  • Help develop new or improved processes for better ERP utilization
  • Develop documentation such as SOP's and How To's
  • Do preliminary checking and preparation of spreadsheets for SQL scripts
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Participate as a team member to support a variety of projects
  • Monitor and manage Visual license count
  • Communicates requirements to the development teams through the use of specifications, statements of work, project plans, or other forms of documentation
  • Coordinates with developers, quality assurance teams, and users to test processes and ensure functionality and user acceptance
  • May develop user documentation or training materials
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor

  • Experience in migrating MRP systems is helpful
  • Strong experience all aspects of Epicor as an MRP system is required
