Procurement / Sourcing Manager (MedTech)

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Procurement / Sourcing Manager to support MedTech operations by driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimization across direct and indirect spend. This role plays a critical part in ensuring supply continuity, quality compliance, and regulatory alignment within a highly controlled healthcare/manufacturing environment.

You will partner closely with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Finance, and Facilities teams to deliver resilient supply solutions, manage supplier risk, and support product lifecycle needs while maintaining compliance with medical device standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across direct materials (components, contract manufacturing, packaging) and indirect categories.
  • Develop and execute category and commodity strategies aligned with product lifecycle requirements, regulatory standards, and business goals.
  • Perform cost analysis, pricing evaluations, and make-vs-buy decisions, incorporating total cost of ownership (TCO) and quality impact.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in compliance with medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, GMP requirements).
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts (MSAs, Quality Agreements, SLAs) in collaboration with Legal, Quality, and Finance.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships, driving innovation, quality improvement, and long-term value.
  • Establish and manage supplier performance programs, including KPIs, scorecards, audits, and business reviews.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure supplier adherence to quality systems, validation requirements, and audit readiness.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier capacity, regulatory compliance, geopolitical factors, and single-source dependencies.
  • Monitor and analyze spend data, market trends, and supply risks, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering change processes, ensuring sourcing readiness and cost alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, align sourcing strategies, and support budgeting.
  • Drive process improvement and digital transformation in procurement, including ERP/eProcurement tools and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain strict adherence to procurement policies, compliance standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Balance strategic responsibilities with hands-on execution, including purchase order (PO) management as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of procurement/sourcing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience sourcing medical device components, contract manufacturers, or regulated services.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO 13485, GMP, and quality system requirements.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex commercial and quality agreements.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP/eProcurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba).
  • Experience supporting NPI and product lifecycle management.
