Job description

Summary
 
Executes EHR (Epic) specific education, support, and user analysis to Parkview Health and Connect Clients in various healthcare settings, ensuring consistent documentation standards, while acting as a liaison on behalf of provider/clinical EHR users. Methods of education include, but are not limited to, educator-led classroom courses, webinars, online courses, and one-on-one education sessions. Performs Instructional Design duties by evaluating, adapting, and developing instruction based on learner needs. Provides hospital and physician-based practice support. Exhibits a learning approach in achieving knowledge proficiency in Epic from a functional perspective, while implementing ongoing tactics for knowledge sustainment. Works directly with Epic Instructional Designers to coordinate education needs, feedback, and facilitate education to end users. Responsible to work with providers, clinical, and other staff to help navigate and optimize usage of the EHR and other technology based needs. Collaborates with end users throughout the health system, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement in application functionality or workflow processes related to the Electronic Health Record. Consistently utilizes critical thinking and analytic abilities in seeking and resolving issues. Knowledge transfer with co-workers and client base is a foundational component of the position.
 
Education
 
Minimum requirement of a Associate’s degree in healthcare, education, information technology, or related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
 
Licensure/Certification
 
Epic Credentialing Status obtained in 1 application, within 2 months of hire. Status must remain up-to-date. Must remain current with all versions of the electronic health record. Valid Driver's license required.
 
Experience
 
Minimum requirement of 3 years experience, 5 years preferred, in education, healthcare or other comparable position.
 
Other Qualifications
 
Demonstrates ability to enthusiastically provide education and build relationships. Ability to engage classroom participants utilizing adult learning techniques. Ability to link content to individual and team success. Ability to navigate learning styles within diverse groups. Skilled at problem solving, organization, possessing strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to understand complex issues. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowlege of computer/technology skills, including general Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated knowledge of EHR and data analytics preferred. Proven ability to perform multiple priorities and work effectively in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, effectively with technical teams, as well as operational leaders and end users. Able to perform basic Epic build functionality, including login block restrictions and user customization. Ability to work flexible hours and travel to various organizational locations to meet the needs of the user community.
