Job description

Position Summary:

The Epic EMR Trainer will play a critical role in supporting Family Health Center of Worcester by delivering comprehensive onsite training and workflow optimization services. This position focuses on improving and streamlining clinical processes through effective education, hands-on coaching, and ongoing support for clinical and operations staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare technology, process improvement, and making a measurable impact on patient care in underserved communities.

Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

โ€ข Deliver engaging, interactive Epic EMR training sessions for providers, nurses, medical assistants, patient service representatives, and other staff at FHCW.

โ€ข Assess existing clinical workflows and identify opportunities for optimization using Epic system features and best practices.

โ€ข Collaborate with clinic leadership and staff to understand unique operational challenges and tailor training content accordingly.

โ€ข Develop and update training materials, quick reference guides, and job aids to address FHCW-specific needs.

โ€ข Provide onsite and virtual support during go-live events, upgrades, and system enhancements.

โ€ข Monitor user adoption and proficiency, offering follow-up coaching, troubleshooting, and refresher sessions as needed.

โ€ข Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and IT teams to communicate workflow concerns, system issues, and enhancement requests.

โ€ข Stay current with Epic EMR updates, FQHC regulatory requirements, and healthcare industry trends.

โ€ข Collect and report data on training effectiveness and process improvement outcomes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:

Education And Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in healthcare, education, information technology, or a related field required.
  • Epic EMR certification OR 3-5 years experience training on Epic modules in an ambulatory or primary care setting
  • Experience working with FQHCs or community health centers is highly preferred
