Job description

Position Summary

EnviroServe conducts Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events in various communities throughout Maine and New Hampshire, collecting items like paints, solvents, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, pesticides, cleaners, and other hazardous materials. The position of HHW Technician is a part-time, casual role. These collection events take place on Saturdays from April to November. EnviroServe will arrange transportation to and from the events, and team members are required to travel to Auburn, ME, to arrive between 6 and 7 AM for the start time.

Essential Functions

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment. 
  • Following safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Safely unloading HHW materials from vehicles at collection events or facilities
  • Ensure no material is spilled or released during the unloading process.
  • Move materials and supplies as directed.
  • Assist with site set up and break down.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Timely and dependable attendance required.
  • Must be prepared to work in inclement weather conditions, including heat, cold, & humidity.
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently, under minimal supervision.
