Job description

Position Purpose

Responsible for mechanical HVAC equipment start-up, checkout and troubleshooting. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform duties associated with mechanical system startup, such as troubleshooting and resolving various operational problems with HVAC mechanical systems.
  • Assist in the service of mechanical and control systems that are under Bassett contract.
  • Assist in the coordination, install and start-up of mechanical and control systems as requested. 
  • Assist in design, coordination, wiring and other work as assigned. 
  • Attend classes and/or apprenticeship classes as required to increase knowledge of HVAC and controls.
  • Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Good electrical knowledge.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Journeyman, associate degree or equivalent experience with HVAC systems preferred. 
  • Ability to travel. 
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must be physically able to enter restricted or confined spaces (air handlers, ducts, etc.) for first hand observation or inspection.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
