Job description

Program Manager

6 months initial contract, extendable and/or conversion to FTE

$65–75 per hour, W2 only. No sponsorship, no third parties.

About the job

An established engineering and technology organisation is looking for a Program Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of active programs end to end. You'll be the central point of accountability for schedule, cost, and technical performance; directing a cross-functional team drawn from multiple departments, unblocking problems as they surface, and keeping delivery on time and on budget. The role also has a commercial edge: contract negotiation, proposal work, and helping win the next round of programs.

Requirements

  • Proven program management experience running technical programs end to end, with full accountability for schedule, budget, and performance
  • Track record delivering on time and within budget across concurrent programs
  • Experience negotiating and preparing contracts, with a solid grasp of financial terms, resourcing, and contractual obligations
  • Experience writing and preparing proposals to win new work
  • Ability to direct and coordinate matrixed teams pulled from different departments without direct reporting lines
  • Strong problem-solving instincts; spotting risks early and building the fix
  • Comfortable acting as the advisor and escalation point for the program team

Nice to have

  • Business development or product line expansion experience
  • Formal certification (PMP or similar)
  • Earned value management or similar cost/schedule control methodology
  • Experience in a regulated or contract-driven delivery environment
