Job Summary:

The Program Manager provides leadership for manufacturing programs, overseeing multiple projects and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and customer expectations. This role combines strategic program oversight with people leadership, supporting both technical execution and cross-functional coordination. Program Managers may participate in early-stage planning, guide complex decision-making, and represent the Program Management function in internal and external discussions.


The Program Management (PM) team plays a critical role in overseeing manufacturing projects from initial launch through mass production and final shipment. Functioning as a Manufacturing Program Management (MPM) organization, the team works closely with headquarters Sales, R&D, Quality, and Engineering teams to estimate resources, manage schedules, and align execution with customer requirements. The PM team coordinates cross-functional activities, balances customer commitments with internal efficiency, and adapts plans as conditions change. By serving as a key bridge between customers, headquarters, and manufacturing functions, the team supports timely execution and successful product delivery.


Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversee one or more manufacturing projects, ensuring projects are aligned with customer requirements, business objectives, and operational capabilities.

• Manage resource planning across programs, ensuring staffing and capacity align with business needs.

• Monitor program-level schedules, milestones, and deliverables, proactively identifying risks and driving resolution plans.

• Lead escalation management for complex issues impacting cost, schedule, quality, or customer satisfaction.

• Ensure effective coordination across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams.

• Participate in discussions with internal stakeholders, customers, and/or headquarters to assess feasibility, scope, timelines, and resource requirements.

• Provide strategic direction and guidance to Project Managers, ensuring consistent execution, prioritization, and risk management across projects.

• Develop, coach, and evaluate Program and Project Managers, supporting performance management and professional growth.

• Represent the Program Management function in cross-functional, customer-facing, and executive-level meetings.

• Support departmental planning activities, including process improvement, standardization, and best practice sharing.


Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong program and project leadership capabilities in a manufacturing or operations-driven environment. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining strategic perspective.

• Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows, production planning, and operational constraints.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level interactions.

• Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional partners, and drive alignment without direct authority.

• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in dynamic and ambiguous situations.

• Ability to balance customer expectations with internal efficiency, capacity, and risk considerations.


Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.

• Typically at least 8 years of relevant experience in program or project management within a manufacturing, engineering, or technology environment.

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management, mentoring, or partial managerial responsibility.
